Who is KiwiAds?

KiwiAds is New Zealand’s free classifieds site with a lot of live ads in a wide range of categories - cars, housing, jobs and everything in between. We’re proud to provide a platform that connects Kiwis/New Zealanders, helping them to buy great items in their community, make money off unused possessions cluttering up houses, and help the country waste less. How do I post a free posting?

You can post a free ad without having an account or logging in to our site. However, having a KiwiAds account will allow you to post, edit, delete, repost more easily, communicate and much more. To post add click on the "Add Listing" yellow button on the top right corner, select the category and fill the rest of the form. Please remember to sell more quickly:

- Use a brief title and description of the item

- Make sure you post in the correct category

- Add nice photos to your ad

- Put a reasonable price

- Check the item before publish

 

How can I edit my posting?

Click on My add from the Account dropdown menu in the top, select the post or the ad you want to edit then click on the "Edit" blue Botton.

 

How soon does my posting expire?

In general, an ad is automatically deactivated from the website after one month. You will receive an email a week before D-Day and another on the day of deactivation and then you can post your ad again if you want. Otherwise, you can keep your ad for a longer period by updating it to Premium.

 

How can I delete my posting?

If you posted using an account, you can delete your posting from your account homepage.

Otherwise, use the same link provided in the self-posting email that you used to post the ad originally. If you can't find this, try having it re-sent.

Please note, all postings are automatically deleted upon expiration.

 

How do I repost my posting?

Just click on the "Add Listing" yellow button on the top right corner, select the category and fill the rest of the form. Otherwise, you can keep your ad for a longer period by updating it to Premium.

 

How often can I post?

As many as you want, there is no limitation.

 

I have not received the email about my free posting, what should I do?

If you are using an online email account, please check your bulk/junk/spam mail folder(s).

You may have entered your email address incorrectly—it only takes one typo!

Some email providers and ISPs have implemented "spam filters" some of which are badly designed or misconfigured, resulting in KiwiAds emails being filtered out or intercepted.

Your email provider may be experiencing delays, or other technical issues.

 

Can I add a picture to my posting?

In some categories, you will be offered the option to "Add Images" during the posting process. You will be prompted to upload images from your computer to KiwiAds.

 

What does it cost to advertise?

The publication is 100% free throughout KiwiAds.

 

If I post an ad, will I also get more spam e-mails?

Absolutely not because your email address is not visible on KiwiAds Website.

 

I sold my item. How do I delete my ad?

Once your product is sold or leased, log in to your account to remove your ad.

 

What kind of postings are prohibited?

Please consult the Terms of Use.

Category-specific guidelines posted in specific sections of the site must also be observed.

Users must comply with all applicable laws, the KiwiAds terms of use, and all posted site rules.

Here is a partial list of goods, services, and content prohibited on KiwiAds:

- weapons; firearms/guns and components; BB/pellet, stun, and spear guns; etc

- ammunition, clips, cartridges, reloading materials, gunpowder, fireworks, explosives

- offers, solicitation, or facilitation of illegal prostitution and/or sex trafficking

- exploitation or endangerment of minors; child pornography

- recalled items; hazardous materials; body parts/fluids; unsanitized bedding/clothing

- prescription drugs, medical devices; controlled substances and related items

- alcohol or tobacco; unpackaged or adulterated food or cosmetics

- Animal parts, stud service

- endangered, imperiled and/or protected species and any parts thereof, e.g. ivory

- false, misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent content; bait and switch; keyword spam

- offensive, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or malicious postings or email

- anyone’s personal, identifying, confidential or proprietary information

- governmental assistance

- stolen property, property with serial number removed/altered, burglary tools, etc

- ID cards, licenses, police insignia, government documents, birth certificates, etc

- counterfeit, replica, or pirated items; tickets or gift cards that restrict transfer

- spam; miscategorized, overposted, cross-posted, or nonlocal content

- any good, service, or content that violates the law or legal rights of others

What should I do if someone harasses me by posting a prank posting?

If you are the target of a prank or other harassment related to a KiwiAds post, please contact us immediately.

 

Where do focus group opportunities go on the site?

Focus group opportunities can be posted to the jobs category.

 

Who can use KiwiAds Premium Paid Ads?

Any individual or business who meets KiwiAds’s Listing policy and Terms of Use can opt for KiwiAds’s Premium Listings.

 

How can one select their product or service to be a Premium Ad?

To opt for a Premium ad, you need to first start posting your ad on KiwiAds. As part of the Post ad flow, you will have an option to either post your ad as a free ad or a Premium paid ad. At this stage, you can select a Premium ad option.

 

How many types of Premium Ads are there and what does a Premium Ad look like?

There are 2 main types of Premium ads: Top of the page ad and Urgent+ Top of the page. An Urgent+ Top of the page ad gives you a top position on the respective category page while also providing you with a mark on your ad. Top of the page ad gives you a top position but under Urgent+ Top of the page. There is also one more premium option for business to keep ads for more days and in top of all.

 

How do I pay for Premium Ads on KiwiAds?

Currently, we offer 2 modes of payment options for Premium ads:

- Credit/Debit Card payment.

- PayPal payment.

You can choose either of these options to pay for your Premium ad. More details about these are part of the Post Ad process on KiwiAds.

 

How long does my Ad remain as a Premium Ad?

All ads on KiwiAds stay on site for 30 days for free as long as they meet the Listing Policy and Terms Of Use of the website.

Top the page premium ads will stay as premium for 4 days and after first 4 days, it will continue to be active on the site for another 45 days as a normal ad. ( Not in a premium position )

Top the page + Urgent premium ads will stay as premium for 10 days and after first 10 days, it will continue to be active on the site for another 60 days as a normal ad. ( Not in a premium position )

Premium Business ads will stay as premium for 30 days and after first 30 days, it will continue to be active on the site for another 120 days as a normal ad. ( Not in a premium position )

 

Do Premium Ads immediately get active once I have paid for it?

All Premium ads go live to site immediately after the ad being posted.

 

Can I see or monitor my Premium Ads in KiwiAds?

Yes, you can check your Premium ads as well as edit them when required from My Ads section.

 

Can I edit my Premium Ad?

Yes you can

 

Can I renew my Premium Ad?

You can post your Premium Ad again and renew it anytime.

 

Can I get a refund for my Premium Ad?

Listing Fees for your Premium ad are NOT refundable, except in the instance of deletion of the ad by KiwAds due to violation of Listing Policy/ Terms of Use or miscategorization of the ad.
